From November 8 to 13, the activities of Dubai Design Week will be held, in strategic partnership with the Dubai Design District of TECOM Group, and with the support of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), with a rich and diverse program, a celebration of design and creativity, which consolidates Dubai’s global position In various fields of design, creativity and the arts.

The event, in its eighth edition this year, will provide an exceptional space for talented and creative designers to highlight their talents and skills. The events and activities will include a rich and diverse group of exhibitions, installation works, exhibitions, dialogue sessions, workshops, and others, all of which will be available to visitors from different experiences and knowledge.

The workshop program offers visitors of all age groups the opportunity to learn directly from a group of specialists, including professors working in world-renowned institutions and innovators who aspire to reach new heights in terms of innovation in materials and creativity in design.

Another workshop allows participants to explore traditional printing techniques, including Lino-cut and Drypoint.

The Shaghaf Group, which includes Emirati artists residing in the United Arab Emirates, participates in design and plastic arts activities that may benefit professional creators, and its members focus on international exhibitions.

Participants in the “81 Designs Embroidery” workshop learn techniques for combining colored threads and different patterns to create traditional motifs. Embroidery is an ancient Palestinian artistic technique and is a unique form of thread painting, characterized by its rich colors and various combinations.

It offers educational workshops for children from Easy Doodles – Easy Doodles, which aims to create games that combine fun, play, sustainability, high quality and high-end content.

Participants in the Textile Prints and Seals Workshop – Diego Mendoza from Tashkeel, will create patterns designs that will be printed on textiles. The Paper City Workshop presents an interactive game based on the aesthetics of collective papers.

Dubai Design District hosts a rich and diverse collection of exhibitions that shed light on how technology related to the virtual world “Metaverse” can push designers to new heights.

As part of the “Downtown Design” exhibition, the “Designers from the Emirates” exhibition, which receives the support of Dubai Culture, will shed light again this year on a group of the most prominent works of some local designers. (wam)
